Given the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which has surpassed 6 million sales worldwide, it wasn’t that shocking when developer Bloober Team and Konami teamed up yet again on a remake of the original title. Silent Hill has had a bit of a strong resurgence over the past few years with the releases of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall, releasing over the last few years.
Now, according to a new Report from MP1st, Silent Hill Remake was always in the cards, with work having started in 2022 (two years prior to the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake), with a planned release in 2027.
According to this leak, several of the project’s actors have also been cast, with the game doing so under the codename “Project Noise. These cast members include Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew in starring roles. Fritz has previously worked on titles such as Battlefield 2042 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Matthew, on the other hand, is best known for performances on British TV in supporting roles. It is unclear who either of them is playing yet, with roles like Police Officer Cybil Bennett, Nurse Lisa Garland, or the big bad Dahlia Gillespie all being potential. Protagonist Harry Mason’s casting remains unknown.
Bloober Team as a whole has a lot on their plate right now. Besides developing Silent Hill Remake, a new DLC is also in the works for their game Cronos: The New Dawn. They are also developing a new multiplayer game based on the Saw franchise, entitled Saw: Genesis; a story-driven title based on Star Trek called Star Trek: Shadow Frontier; and Layers of Fear 3, the third entry in the popular horror franchise.
The 2027 release window also lines up with previous statements made by Konami, as the publisher planned to have a Silent Hill title release every year. Producer Motoi Okamoto has also stated that a second and third wave of Silent Hill titles were coming, pointing to the previous three released as the first wave. Most likely the Remake will be the first in this wave, though it will be interesting to see what other projects are planned, especially given the drastic range of the ones that have been released.
