While there has been previous mention, especially during the Xbox Developers Direct, about just how big the scope of Forza Horizon 6 will be compared to previous entries, we have finally gotten a more detailed look. Developer Playground Games has posted a zoomed-out look at the full in-game map of the Japanese landscape that players will be able to start driving next month on PC and Xbox Series.
As stated on the official Twitter post, the game’s map will stretch from “From the iconic downtown streets of Tokyo City all the way to the snowy Japanese Alps.” And the game will feature the studio’s “most dense and vertical map yet.” The entire map appears to feature the central area of the main island of Japan, Honshu.
Of course, with this information, fans have been zooming in all across the area to pinpoint twists and turns that look challenging and fun. Others have expressed some concerns that the map feels particularly small, especially the city of Tokyo, which obviously is a simplified version of what is the largest city in Japan. Fans of the series have pointed out that Tokyo will be roughly four times the size of the major city in Horizon 5, which can easily be seen just at a glance.
People have also pointed out the location where they believe Mt. Akina is located on the map, right below the Alps, to the east of the map. Mt. Akina is a fictionalized name for Mount Haruna, which featured heavily in classic racing anime Initial D. The area also features a circuit that has some debate as to whether it is the Nikko or Tsukuba circuit
Forza Horizon 6 is set to race onto the scene on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series and PC. A PlayStation 5 version has also been confirmed, coming later in 2026 with no official release date as of yet.
