Microsoft has confirmed the upcoming lineup for Xbox Game Pass in May of 2026 via Xbox Wire, and there is a lot to be excited for. For starters, this is the first big batch of games coming to the service following the appointment of the new head of Xbox, Asha Sharma, who chose to remove Call of Duty from the service as a day-one title, effectively lowering the service’s cost from $29.99 to $22.99. The tail end of this period will also see the release of the Xbox first-party title Forza Horizon 6 on May 19 for both Xbox and PC, finally allowing players to drift around Tokyo and the Japanese countryside, living out their Initial D dreams.
Subnatica 2, the long-awaited sequel to the watery survival crafting game from Unknown World Entertainment, will also arrive on PC and Xbox via the service on May 14. This was a welcome announcement for fans when it was made a week or so ago, but developers have had to adjust plans. This includes Outbound, a cozy crafting game, which will now join the service on May 11 on PC and Xbox, originally planned for May 14. Coming-of-age story Mixtape, published by Annapurna, is also set to join on May 7, if you need a break from surviving to just feel things.

Of course, with a new batch of games set to join the service, several games are set to leave on May 15.
Leaving May 15:
- Galacticare (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Go Mecha Ball (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Paw Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Planet of Lana (Cloud, Console, and PC)
There definitely seems to be a lot to enjoy here, with a few highly anticipated day-one game choices in the mix. At a newly lower price, especially with Subnautica 2 as part of the offering, it should be interesting to see how the service performs this month. Of course, for me, the only thing I see when I close my eyes is me, in a Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86), on the winding roads of Mt. Haruna in Forza Horizon 6.
