With Grand Theft Auto VI already seemingly set for release on November 19th, we have seen the effects on the industry, with months like September and February getting massively crowded. While there has been some debate as to whether the massive juggernaut would meet its release date, even the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, has gone on record saying that the title will not see another delay. Now, we have gotten the biggest seeming confirmation of this news, with a reveal of Grand Theft Auto VI‘s cover art, as well as the day preorders will go live.
Rockstar Games released both a video and an image of the game’s cover, with music that very well could be the game’s theme track playing over. Grand Theft Auto traditionally follows a formula for its cover art, featuring multiple panels around the logo. We get an image of playable protagonists Lucina and Jason, top center, with an image of a mertime helicopter on the left of them, as well as a man riding a bike on the right. Below that, we do see two male characters, Bobbie Ike on the right and Raul Bautista below a panel of a crocodile (or alligator, I’m not good with knowing the difference). More interestingly, we get a look at our currently nameless cover girl on the left, a tradition of the series.

Now for the biggest and most important news: Grand Theft Auto VI will be up for preorder soon, next week on June 25. The one thing we have yet to learn is how much the game will cost when players go to do so. There have been speculations that the game could ultimately cost upwards of $100, with an estimated budget of $1 Billion spent during development.
Zelnick Stated:
Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery. How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.
What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge. If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself.

Analysts have continued to hype the game’s ultimate release, with it expected to be the biggest release in gaming history. Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, with a PC release not yet announced, but expected to follow Rockstar’s trend of around a year after console launch. You can also check out a first, albeit limited, view of the game’s map at its official website.
