Upcoming cyberpunk title No Law, from The AsNo Lawcent developer Neon Giant, got a new gameplay trailer during Opening Night Live; the game returned during the Future Games Show to get a slightly longer look with some developer commentary. Much of the content on offer remains the same, but here we get some more information concerning player choice and just how much impact you can have on the world around you.

No Law puts players into the role of Grey Harker, a retired vet who is forced into a situation that will turn the cyberpunk city of Port Desire into a brutal powder keg. While the developers had already put some emphasis on player choice when discussing it, the new trailer, at least for me, draws some similarities to the most recent Deus Ex games, and the explanations here actually make that feel more so.

The title is an immersive sim, meaning that while you will have abilities and weapons, the game gives you complete freedom to explore the city, as well as solve your problems. This can diverge in typical ways, such as allowing you to move through areas in stealth or just blasting enemies, but there are a few interesting twists thrown into the trailer. This includes shooting out lights as you progress to stay hidden, or attaching a grenade to a Roomba and driving it into a group of enemies.

Compared to other cyberpunk worlds, or maybe just the one you are thinking of, Port Desire will be a smaller city in scope, with the team aiming to create a more detailed, less overwhelming world. This will also aid the developers’ approach of not telling players where to go, but giving them the tools and options to make their own path, and allowing them to create a narrative and adventure unique to them.

No Law is slated to release sometime in 2027. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
