While a multitude of indie games are announcing delays to avoid conflict with the upcoming release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which was announced for September 4, 2025, Kakehashi Games has announced that they will not be delaying Hirogami, the Bandai Namco Singapore-developed paper-folding platformer. The game is still set to release on September 3rd, only one day prior to that of Hollow Knight: Silksong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddm68CNWP8g In a press release made by the publisher, it was stated that Hirogami “will maintain its September 3rd launch date for PC and PlayStation 5 as announced back in June.” Worldwide Publishing Director Matt Sakuraoka-Gilmkan…
Atari has acquired five smaller titles from publisher Ubisoft that have been dormant for a number of years. These titles include indie RPG Child of Eden, Survival Horror game Cold Fear, quirky Platformer Grow Home, and its sequel Grow Up, as well as earthquake survival game I am Alive. Atari has stated they plan to “reintroduce iconic creations, bringing them to new platforms and renewed publishing frameworks,” and that all these games will be re-released under Atari’s publishing label “on new platforms.” Deborah Papiernik, Ubisoft’s VP of Business, stated: Millions of players have experienced these worlds over the years, and…
Ysbryd Games has announced that the Necrosoft Games-developed RPG game, Demonschool has been delayed for release by two months, originally slated to release on September 3, but now planned to release on November 19. This news was broken via a press release in which it was stated that the decision was reached in part due to the long-awaited title Hollow Knight: Silksong, which announced it would release three days prior to the originally planned date, an announcement made during Gamescom last week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fazy1L9KXFQ In the press release from Ysbryd, Brian Kwek stated, “We have to remind ourselves that gaining visibility…
Sony has sold their ownership stake in the annual fighting game tournament Evolution Championship Series, better known as EVO, to Indian Gaming and event company Nodwin Gaming. This leaves Nodwin and RTS (a talent management and brand consulting company founded by popular streamer Pokimane), who previously purchased the event with Sony in 2021 as joint owners. Sony has not fully departed EVO, at least not yet, as they will remain as the global sponsor of EVO through 2028. In addition, they are one of the backers of Nodwin Gaming, leaving them at least somewhat invested through that partnership. Phil Rosenberg,…
If somebody had asked me coming into this year what my most anticipated game is, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 would not even be in my top 10, despite being the sequel to what I consider one of my favorite RPGs of all time. A game I can still sink 100 hours in when the mood hits me just right. One could chalk this up to so many high-quality games looking poised to release this year, or me being unsure that a game delayed this much would release, but the truth is, Chinese Room lost me when they showcased…
When Grifford Academy begins, you are presented with very little context for the events that are about to transpire. A brother and sister seemingly use a magical book, and then everything goes wonky. If the game then didn’t commit to a long and drawn-out introduction, this might be fine, but the game is about to layer a magical world inside of a magical world, so the characters who understand their world being confused by things the player is missing context for, and spending the next portion trying to figure out what happened, makes everything more confusing and less fun. It…
The long-awaited sequel to Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong, has received a release date after years of waiting. Team Cherry announced this news via a 2-minute-long trailer for the upcoming title that ends with the reveal of a September 4, 2025, release date. The trailer also showcases a lot of new information for Silksong, which had gone quiet for years as the developer was working on it, with levels and enemy types on full display. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XGeJwsUP9c Originally announced in 2019, the game has seen a fair share of delays before going quiet with a, it will be ready when it’s…
One of the earliest trophies/Achievements you can earn along your journey in Herdling, Road Rage, can be easily missed if you are not paying attention. To earn this, the player will need to guide their herd into 10 cars they find in the city and destroy them. It is noticeable when you wreck these cars, but you might not realize it, given that ‘wreck’ in this context means that the windows are smashed in, with the metal slightly dented. That is all the damage you will see on the car. Only one hit is required on a car to ‘wreck’…
*Slight spoilers for Herdling contained below Moving through the opening stage of Herdling, The City, there are traffic cones set up in multiple locations that earn players the Careful Pedestrians Trophy/Achievement. These tie in, in part, to the guided instructions that the player is given for instructing their herd, but they can still be slightly challenging to avoid if you are not careful, so the recommendation is to take this slow and steady. After getting the first member of your Herd, head towards the next area, where we used in our Road Rage guide. The recommendation here would be to…
*Minor spoilers for Herdling are contained below Near the end of Chapter 2, Countryside in Herdling, there is a moment where, while running down a hill of flowers, a train barrels along the tracks with both you and it converging at a tunnel at the bottom that leads you to the next area. Maximum Zommies, as the name of this trophy/achievement implies, involves speeding alongside this train, reaching this convergence point at almost the same time. In order to do this, you need to have a grasp of the concept of stampede, which you learn earlier in this level. As…
