There has been some suggestion today that Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, the next entry in the Spider-Man video game series developed by Insomniac Games, might be in development at the studio. This comes after the face model for Peter Parker in the games, Ben Jordan, posted a picture of himself on social media before promptly deleting it.
The image in question that Jordan posted was on Instagram and showed him in full rigging with motion capture gear on a stage. It also featured the message “IYKYK” with a spider emoji next to it, in case the connection wasn’t clear. Obviously, regardless of the deletion of the image, the internet never forgets, so it was quickly posted on places like Reddit and Twitter.
Originally, when the Spider-Man games featured John Bubnaik as the face of Peter Parker, he was replaced by Jordan when the title was rereleased on the PlayStation 5. Though denied by Insomniac, it was noted by fans at the time that the changes seemed to give Peter Parker a closer appearance to Tom Holland, the actor currently portraying the character in the MCU. Insomniac creative director Bryan Intihar said about the decision that it was about “finding a better facial match for actor Yuri Lowenthal.”
It makes sense that Insomniac would be looking towards their next big project, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 would make sense. Currently, the studio’s next game, Marvel’s Wolverine, is set to release on September 15, 2026, after several years without much word. Insamniac typically overlaps its development cycles, with the previous entry in the series ending with a clear setup for a follow-up title. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sold 11 million copies within six months, which should leave little wonder why that might be their next project.
