Remaining Grace is a touching ghost story about human connection that has just been announced for PC. It will be playable at PAX West in early September.
Described as an intimate, non-linear ghost story about chosen family, Remaining Grace is coming to PC soon. Telling the story of Grace Tao, it plans to explore the interconnected lives of those she left behind. The debut project of ambedo studios, it includes the lead designer of Dreamfall Chapters, Quintin Pan. A playable demo will be available in early September at PAX West 2026.
Players will guide the spirit of Grace through a plethora of relationships. Her Chinese immigrant parents, her adopted sister, her dad’s new wife, and so much more. Set against the backdrop of an alternate-history North America, Grace will explore parks, tea houses, and her childhood home. Furthermore, the game features a gorgeous pencil sketch art style that catches the eye from the first glance. The ethnic mix of indigenous people and the diaspora will coexist alongside Grace’s spirit roaming the land to make sense of this multi-layered tale.

“Our goal is to create an intimate, raw, and honest exploration of complex lived experiences and use an alternate-history setting to ask pointed and provocative questions,” said Quintin Pan, the now Creative Director at ambedo studios. “Remaining Grace is the culmination of our immigrant stories, our Indigenous stories, and our wrestlings with faith, race, gender, and culture all into a complex non-linear narrative tapestry for the player to unfold.”
ambedo studios is an indie arthouse studio focused on creating heartfelt, interactive narrative experiences.
