Nintendo and developers Game Freak and Omega Force have announced that the second expansion for the life sim Pokémon Pokopia, entitled Dazzling Decorations, will arrive on December 9. This expansion follows Bubbly Basin, which dropped in August, as part of the paid post-launch DLC being added to the title. Players who never left, or plan to return, will find that this additional content adds more Pokémon, items, and accessories.
New screenshots for the expansion have showcased that, as the name implies, it will be mostly focused on offering up new cosmetics. This includes the player having new outfits to wear, as well as being able to befriend new Pokémon that also have new items. People looking for more have nothing to fear, though, as new towns will also be added through Dazzling Decorations, all of which are just waiting to be explored as well.
We already knew that we would see the inclusion of more Pokémon, getting a better idea of some we can expect with this announcement. This includes Braixen, Skitty, Snubbull, and Doduo. While we got some information, we don’t have an exact figure on just how many Pokémon are coming once December 9 rolls around. For reference, the previous expansion added 50 new Pokémon to the overall count.
Alongside this announcement, we also learned that a third expansion is on its way, planned to be released sometime in 2027. It is expected to similarly add new areas and Pokémon to the mix. Dazzling Decorations will be made available alongside the 3.0.0 update, which will be available to all players. The update will be required to access the Dazzling Decorations DLC.
Pokopia has managed to become a massive success for Nintendo, being one of the breakout hits on the Nintendo Switch 2. The title sold 5 million copies in five months and accounted for 21% of Switch 2 owners in August. This has positioned the title as the second most popular game on the platform, only behind Mario Kart World. This should leave little doubt why the Pokémon Pokopia has recieved continuous support, with a third expansion on the way.
