Forza Horizon 6 is now in the hands of players who purchased the Premium Edition of the game, which came with early access that begins today. In the build-up to all players hitting the streets of Japan when the title releases to all players and to Game Pass on May 19, developer Playground Games has outlined the first batch of free reward cars that will be available to earn when the Festival Playlist becomes available on May 21.
Series 1, entitled ‘Welcome to Japan’, will run between May 21 and June 18, with 10 new cars available to collect, which we will list below:
- 1999 Toyota Altezza RS200 Z EDITION
- 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR
- 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec
- 1991 Honda CR-X SiR
- 2019 Subaru STI S209
- 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Arctic Trucks points
- 1996 Toyota Starlet Glanza V
- 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5
- 2008 Mazda Furai
- 2010 Nissan 370Z
The structure set here should be pretty familiar to anybody who participated in previous Playlists, like the ones featured in Forza Horizon 5. This said, Playground Games has stated they are making some changes to the formula, stating that Forza Horizon 6 will feature “unique secondary rewards to the Festival Playlist.”
According to a recent post from the studio, “Series History Rewards” will include“exclusive cars that are unlocked based on the lifetime Playlist Points that you have obtained from playing the game.” It isn’t clear at present just how exactly this will work, so players will have to begin discovering that when the mode goes live next week. The Festival Playlist has drawn some criticism for embracing a heavy-handed model that plays on the fear of missing out, something I am feeling even now, given the ’97 Skyline GT-R is among my favorite cars.
Unfortunately, we here at PixelByte have not been able to go hands-on with Forza Horizon 6 as of yet, but we plan to devote coverage when the standard version of the game releases on May 19.
