FromSoftware has announced that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will release on the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026. In addition to this, the additional content coming to the Tarnished Edition, which includes a new class and armor sets, will be available for all other platforms that Elden Ring is available for via the Tarnished Pack DLC set. On the Nintendo Switch 2, the game will cost $79.99 and include the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new weapons and armor, and the ability to customize your faithful steed, Torrent, as well as two new starting classes.
Bandai Namco, the publisher of the title, has stated that the new content will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, not leaving previous-gen players behind. There is no price point for the DLC content as of yet, but several analysts have weighed in, suggesting a $5 point sounds likely.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game was originally planned to bring the 2022 game of the year-winning title to the console in 2025. The reason given for the delay was to “allow time for performance adjustments,” with the title having received heavy criticisms for performance issues during several hands-on previews. IGN, having had the chance to preview Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 at Gamescom, had referred to the title as a “disaster in handheld mode.”

This release will see Elden Ring now available on every major platform, increasing the over 30 million copies they have already sold worldwide. FromSoftware also has a new IP, a cooperative title in the vein of Elden Ring: Nightreign, which is now over a year old. The Duskbloods is currently planned as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive title, and is currently planned for 2026 according to From’s parent company, Kadokawa.
