Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a mouthful to say if ever there was one, has released a new trailer that offers a release date of October 8, 2026, to unleash its horrors on gamers, finally. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC Being developed by Saber Interactive, the title is based on the Hellraiser film franchise, in turn based on the short story by Clive Barker, that gave us the iconic Pinhead, leader on the cenobites.
The trailer gives us a fresh look through the eyes of protagonist Aiden as he fights off the cenobite monsters while attempting to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny, who has been dragged into an extradimensional labyrinth. To do so, Aiden will dual-wield the Genesis configuration, a mysterious puzzle box, alongside guns, to defeat these enemies and solve the puzzles surrounding this supernatural occurrence. As one might expect if they are familiar with the franchise, the trailer is brutal.
A digital and physical standard edition will be available for pre-order soon at $39.99, with a deluxe edition priced at $49.99 that will also be up for pre-order at some point before release. The pre-order of any edition of the game will net you the in-game exclusive Labyrinth Pistol Skin and Martyr Sawblade skin upon the game’s release. A collector’s edition of the game, priced at $249.99, will also be available to pre-order, featuring an art book, trading card pack, enamel pins, as well as a cenobite statue and puzzle box with LED features.
Despite the graphic violence featured in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, which plays itself very close to the films, Saber Interactive’s Tim Willits confirmed earlier this year that the title managed to secure its M ESRB rating with no cuts, having promised last year to push the M boundary as far as possible. While violence is par for the course in the game, much of Hellraiser’s big twist on this is the exploration of said violence through a lens of sexuality and BDSM, something that can become problematic when seeking a rating, with the trailer making it clear the game will follow this formula.
