Moonlight Peaks opens up with your character, a customizable stand-in for yourself, having a comical yelling match in a castle. This is preceded by doing the millennial thing and packing up your possessions, which is mostly just a casket, and storming off. See, you are a vampire, and that yelling match was actually with your father, the one and only Dracula. I will admit I missed this at first and thought Dracula was just a very nasty way of referring to your kind. This is a playful, cozy sim, so I really should have known better. The protagonist decides that,…
CD Projekt has celebrated the continued success of Cyberpunk 2077, announcing that the title has officially crossed the 40 million copies sold milestone. This is an increase of at least 5 million in sales since the company last reported numbers in November of last year, when the title had reached 35 million in sales. This would be a massive milestone to cross for really any game; however, given the poorly received buggy launch and 3 years of subsequent development to repair both the game and the developer’s image, this marks another step in the game’s massive comeback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV7451mcw-E Co-CEO of…
For the rest of this year, we will probably be hearing a lot about which games are still supporting physical media. This was an event that started shortly after Grand Theft Auto VI announced it would include a code in the box rather than a disc for people who buy a physical version of the game. Ironically, one of the first games to do so was Marvel’s Wolverine from developer Insomniac, only a week before Sony, which owns Insomniac, stated they would be killing discs by 2028. Now, Xbox is taking the opportunity to confirm a physical disc for the…
According to a recent store leak, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be receiving a Story Expansion Pass that will add additional content following the title’s 2027 release. The Expansion Pass was spotted via a listing spotted in the database of the Epic Game Store, offering a look at 9 DLC placeholder packs that are visible. The original game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy saw the release of the intergrade DLC that offered players to take the role of Yuffie, before her appearance as a party member in the sequel, Rebirth, which did not feature any DLC additions to…
Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first new entry in the classic Capcom series since 2006, has recieved a new release date. Capcom has announced that the title will now be available on September 4th, around 3 weeks before its originally announced release date, a rare example of a title’s release moving forward on the calendar and not back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YILKsnm0ip4 September became overly crowded this summer, along with the announcement of Onimusha’s release date, as titles attempt to avoid the November release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Capcom itself has had several strong sales performances this year with titles like…
Sony has announced that they will be ending the production of physical software on physical discs on the PlayStation platform as of January 2028. This shocking announcement follows closely behind the reveal that the upcoming title from Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto VI, will forgo a physical disk, instead opting to push a digital version, with a physical version only including a code in the box. With Grand Theft Auto VI expected to dominate sales charts, and so many games planning their release to avoid it, the move to release digitally was expected to have industry-wide ramifications. Not this soon, though.…
Cyberpunk bartending life sim Nivalis Nights has recieved a release date for its PC release from developer ION LANDS. Formerly known as Nivalis, the title is a spin-off of the developer’s previous title, Cloudpunk, which the studio released back in 2020. Nivalis was first announced in May of 2021, targeting a 2024 release date before several delays. It was scheduled for 2026 until last year, when it finally received a release date of September 29th for PC via Steam. It will release on the Epic Game Store at a later date. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yycn0lVo7NA Nivalis Nights is set in the same universe…
Amid multiple cancellations and closures at Xbox following Asha Sharma’s “reset”, there is now growing concern for the long-awaited zombie survival game State of Decay 3. This follows reports overnight that have suggested that the developer behind the title, Undead Labs, is also under threat of closure as Microsoft seeks a buyer for the company. Publication Gamesbeat reported that work is being done behind the scenes to find a buyer for the studio, which is based in Seattle, Washington, a report backed up by Windows Central. Should a buyer not be found, State of Decay 3 is at risk of…
*A code for SAND: Raiders of Sophie was provided for this preview. The title is currently in Early Access and subject to change. Extraction shooters have been one of the hardest genres for me to get into. Multiplayer games, in general, beyond fighting games at least, require an amount of commitment that I have never been able to invest. SAND: Raiders of Sophie looked interesting enough in its showcase during Summer Games Fest that I was hoping it might break that spell. After spending a few days with it, I remain unsure. There is a cool idea in there, lumbering…
During the Final 8 mainstage finale of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising event on the main stage of EVO 2026 (congratulations to Kojicoco on his back-to-back EVO championships in the title), developer Cygames made several announcements concerning the title. As one might expect, as something common at EVO, we did get a look at the next DLC character coming to the game during season 2, Id, who will release on September 17th. The powerful swordsman will bring a mix of fast-paced rushdown attacks mixed with powerful screen-controlling draconic powers that are sure to mix up the competition upon his release.…
