As part of the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Presents event, the tenth generation of the mainline series of the game has been announced. As always, two different versions will launch alongside each other, in this case Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which are set to arrive in 2027 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be set in a large open world region that takes heavy inspiration from Southeast Asia. This region will feature a string of islands, as well as underwater locations for the player to explore. Along with this new location will come three new starters…
After skipping the PlayStation State of Play event, Insomniac Games has announced a release date for their upcoming game, Marvel’s Wolverine, in a bit of a surprise tweet. The game is set to release on September 15, 2026, a week after the PlayStation 5 platform exclusive Phantom Blade Zero is also set to release. The tweet itself was only a 6-second teaser that stated, “Let’s cut to the chase: Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026.” https://twitter.com/insomniacgames/status/2026341241936335224?s=20 The title was hotly anticipated to be part of the State of Play event held by Sony this month, but a response from developer…
It should probably be prefaced, before I even begin, that Dragon Quest VII is not one of my favorite games in the Dragon Quest series. Having beaten it on PlayStation and the 3DS, the ins and outs of this particular game in the series were familiar to me going into the experience. That isn’t to say I don’t like Dragon Quest VII. All of this is to structurally set up just how shocked I was by how this particular remake won me over, which I was not expecting. If we are being fair, it’s the core structure of the title…
Nintendo has announced they will be holding a special livestream tomorrow, on February 24, that will offer more details on two upcoming games for the Switch 2. Set to be held at 2 pm Pacific / 5 pm Eastern, the livestream will focus on Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellable Park, a re-release of the latest Mario platform title, as well as cozy life sim Pokémon Pokopia. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/2025933666069647603?s=20 Both titles are set to release, with Pokopia set to release on March 5 and Super Mario Wonder to release shortly after this on March…
Similar to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village made its way to the Nintendo Switch. In fact, it arrived only a year after it was released on every other platform. Unfortunately, they were both released as cloud streaming games, meaning that you could buy and stream them over Wi-Fi if that were a functional option for you, but your experience was highly dependent on your connection. As somebody who champions the PlayStation Portal regularly basis, I have no issues with cloud gaming, and it has gotten much better, but it’s frustrating when it is required and not an optional…
There is always that point in a horror movie where you can’t help screaming at the screen because the character has decided to follow the most outrageously stupid path possible. I always love horror video games when you find everything blocked, and then you, the player, have to make the worst possible decision despite being painfully aware of the fact. In Resident Evil: Biohazard, this point of no return comes when you pull up to the creepy as hell house in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana. I feel like every part of that is equally terrifying. At least in…
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, remakes of the original titles in the Pokémon series, have been announced to be released for the Nintendo Switch in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the franchise. The two versions of the game will be released shortly after this year’s Pokémon Presents broadcast, an annual showcase which is held on February 27 every year. The event itself will be held at 6 AM Pacific / 9 AM Eastern and is expected to be an important one. https://twitter.com/Pokemon/status/2024757682851233891?s=20 Unfortunately, despite Nintendo Switch having a Game Boy Advance Library as part of its online service, both titles…
Sony will be closing Bluepoint Games, a first-party developer best known for high-quality remakes such as Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, the latter being a PlayStation 5 launch title. Despite having developed several PlayStation -exclusive remakes, the studio was not officially acquired until 2021, following the success of their Demon’s Souls remake. This news comes via Bloomberg, who have confirmed this to be the case through a PlayStation representative. Roughly 70 employees will be impacted by this closure when it officially comes to pass next month. The spokesman for PlayStation stated to Bloomberg: Bluepoint Games is an incredibly…
The current performer behind God of War’s lead protagonist, Kratos, actor Christopher Judge, has suggested we are likely to get more news concerning the franchise this summer. This comes via a video from YouTuber Fuzhpuzy during the Fan Expo in Canada, that “you’ll be hearing about what we’re doing probably late summer.” It should be noted that Judge may not have been aware that he was being recorded at the time. During the most recent State of Play, we got several God of War announcements from developer Santa Monica Studio, including the stealth release of God of War: Sons of…
