Publisher Bandai Namco has announced a narrower release window for the upcoming action brawler Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, though the new window is still pretty big. Previously, we knew that the company planned for a 2027 release, so that is nothing new. We now know that the plan is to release the title at some point in the second half of 2027, which at least removes 6 months from the possible 12 it could have been.
Producer Masayuki Hirano released a statement to announce this news. In it, he stated:
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a series that we build together with the players through launch, and throughout its post-launch life as well. To fully realize our ambitions for both the launch experience and the content we plan to operate and support afterward, the release window is currently set for the latter half of 2027.
This announcement comes after the developer “continuously revealed new information to all of you and, in return, has received valuable feedback” over the past several months. This includes trailers, developer statements, as well as hands-on demos. He also stated the targeted release is deliberate, with the studio having already begun to incorporate fan feedback into the ultimate game.
He went on to say:
We may keep you waiting a little longer until our next update, but we are fully committed to making 2027 a great year for Dragon Ball game fans, and we will do everything we can to make that happen.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is the first new entry into the series in over a decade, with the previous entry released in 2016. That said, that title has recieved continuous updates since its first release. The title will be set in Age 100, around 148 years after the previous games, with a new narrative that does not directly correlate to previous entries.
