Guild Wars 3 launched its main theme honoring its legacy on all major music streaming platforms, led by acclaimed game composer Kazuma Jinnouchi.
Reveling in years of wonderful fantasy soundscapes, the Guild Wars 3 Main Theme is now available on all major music platforms. Composed by the ArenaNet studio team, they brought in lauded game composer Kazuma Jinnouchi to craft a unique musical experience. With a career in series such as Halo, Metal Gear Solid, and Star Wars, their approach was rooted in honoring the legacy of the Guild Wars franchise. Alongside the release of the theme itself, a featurette about how the composition came to be was published on their official YouTube channel.
The inside look at the musical adventure goes on to show the theme’s pillars in depth. Not only is it bringing back Guild Wars 2 composer Maclaine Diemer, but it also gives a peek behind the curtain at the orchestra recording sessions with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra earlier this year. Guild Wars 3 audio lead Chase Thompson and music lead Nadia Wheaton talk further about the inspirations and creative philosophy behind the game’s title theme and score.
Looking Ahead
Listening to the track itself, it certainly evokes a sense of wonder that is palpable throughout the franchise. The undiscovered era in the land of Tyria in which Guild Wars 3 is set now has a powerful soundtrack that, added to the latest tidbits of lore, can help imagine how the world looks. Meanwhile, Guild Wars 2 is adding beloved internet celebrity Jimothy to the game soon.
Guild Wars 3 is the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game set over 1,000 years before the original title. It aims to deliver a fresh, innovative vision that meaningfully moves the MMORPG genre forward into the modern era while continuing the franchise’s tradition of providing a space for player expression and welcoming community. It is releasing on Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. A beta is planned to have a Fall 2027 launch.
