After getting a significant look at the game earlier this year, Annapurna and Konami have finally given us a release date for the upcoming Horror game Silent Hill: Townfall, being developed by Screen Burn. This was announced in the newest story trailer for the title, which was showcased as part of the Sony State of Play on June 2, 2026. Silent Hill: Townfall is a spin-off of Konami’s popular horror series, featuring a new protagonist, Simon Ordell, who must survive the horrors unleashed in a small fishing hamlet in Scotland.
Players will take control of Simon in a first-person perspective, as he explores the town of St. Amelia and faces both tangible threats and the demons of his past. Unlike the typical Silent Hill formula, Simon appears to be less equipped to deal with these monsters than other protagonists like Himiko or James, instead focusing on tight stealth play and avoidance of enemies to progress. We also see the protagonist throw a bear bottle to distract a lurking enemy in order to sneak past them. This is in line with Silent Hill f‘s departure from the traditional gameplay for a more melee-focused combat, switching up the experience as they explore the idea of Silent Hill as a phenomenon rather than a place.
The other big change made to the game is the inclusion of a CRTV instead of a traditional radio. The radio typically aided players in knowing when a threat was approaching, which the CRTV appears to do as well. The CRTV also appears to be built into several of the puzzles as well, with the trailer showcasing at least one moment where moving a scale on the bottom makes an image on screen clearer. The tagline of the game is “fear the truth behind the static,” putting the CRTV as a central feature throughout the experience.
Silent Hill: Townfall will be getting two versions of the title upon release, a Standard Edition at $49.99, and a Deluxe Edition at $59.99. The standard version of the game will feature the base game, as well as offer two preorder bonuses to change the cosmetics of the CRTV, which you will be looking at a lot. At physical retailers, where supplies last, preordering will also get you a steelbook collectable. The deluxe edition is only available digitally and will feature the same collectables, as well as Simon’s Outfit: Alternate skin. Players who get this version will also get 48-hour advanced access to the game.
Silent Hill: Townfall releases on September 24th, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
