Ahead of its release next week, Star Wars Zero Company launched its final trailer. Full of riveting cinematics, it showed brief glimpses of its XCOM-style strategy gameplay. Set during the twilight of the Clone Wars era, it also doubled down on high-octane dramatic moments in between the turn-based encounters. An original story that could spell the life or death of your squad depending on your decisions, outmaneuvering your foes is a must. Out August 27, players will be able to command an elite squad on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
Playing as Hawks, players can expect to customize this former captain fully in the Grand Army of the Republic. From their gender and species to visual style, it does not stop there. Certain previews gave a taste of what’s to come, from their skin tone, body type, and specific combat role. Recruiting a group of misfits known as Zero Company, this all-star cast of veteran Star Wars actors will maintain a lively narrative throughout.
For instance, Togruta character Runa Blask is played by Vic Michaelis of Dropout fame. On the other hand, Dee Bradley Baker—known for voicing every clone trooper in modern Star Wars animation—will make an appearance as Trick, a disillusioned clone trooper. Players will be able to forge profound bonds with their squad while risking life and limb on the battlefield. Working together will unlock new squad skills and combat synergies.
Longtime fans of the series will appreciate hearing that iconic Jedi-turned-Sith Anakin Skywalker is making an appearance in-game. Not only is the game highly customizable, but it also features a gritty and authentic original story. Star Wars Zero Company is launching August 27 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
