Publisher 1312 Interactive, along with developer Brewed Games, has announced that the metroidvania title Winds of Arcana: Ruination is now available on Xbox Series and PC, as well as available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Premium. The title is also part of Xbox Play Anywhere, which will allow handheld and cloud players to have access to the title on the go.
Released for PC on November 15th, 2025, being noted at the time that the Xbox release would follow at a later date. In the title, players take the role of Aryn, who is tasked with saving his comrades, as well as becoming the ultimate warrior mage. Winds of Arcana: Ruination takes place in a handcrafted 2.5D world with plenty of secrets to discover, hidden throughout a Metroidvania-style world that allows for backtracking as well as new abilities to open paths.
As laid out in an official press release, a few of the key aspects of Winds of Arcana: Ruination include:
- Embark On An Epic Adventure: Explore an expansive, interconnected Metroidvania world, filled with hidden passages, dangers, and challenges to overcome
- Create The Ultimate Hero: Wield a variety of mighty weapons, ranging from the legendary Master Sword to the powerful Lich Hammer, to fit a range of playstyles
- Discover Ancient Magic: Find Soul Crests, which hold the essence of long-forgotten warriors, and harness their powers to become a force to be reckoned with
- Expand Traversal Abilities: Collect Artifices to learn new abilities such as grappling, gliding, and summoning platforms, to overcome challenging puzzles and uncover secrets
- An Immersive, Story-Rich Tale: Experience a fully-voiced narrative, as each line of dialogue is spoken by a talented cast of voice actors
Winds of Arcana: Ruination will also come to PlayStation 5 in the future, though no official date has been given for that release as of yet.
