Davy Jones’s Locker is, for the most part, an old pirate euphemism that first appeared in print in 1726, near the tail end of the Golden Age of Piracy. In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, it is a trophy/Achievement the player will earn if they reach the lowest point on the map. This can be a little confusing since the game really doesn’t say more than that. The game has a massive map with plenty of area, and most of it is covered in water, so without direction, you can be searching for a while.
This task technically begins after Sequence 6, Memory 1, titled “Diving for Memory”. In this, Edward Kenway is tasked with diving a shipwreck for medicine, involving the need for a diving bell to do so. The player can either buy a diving bell for 5,000 Reales from a harbormaster or complete a quick mission to steal one. This will progress the player to going to the wreck and diving for the medication throughout this sequence. Once you have completed your first dive, you will unlock several dive spots across the map that you can travel to, mostly to unlock treasure chests and secrets.
The location you want to travel to is known as The Black Trench, located in Castillo De Jagua at 184,425. Upon reaching the point, you are going to want to dive with your diving bell into this new area. Where the diving bell is lowered, you will start with a branching path and a shark, so be careful, but it really doesn’t matter which way you go. The goal is to reach the shipwreck that is awkwardly split along a deep gorge, then head down and along that gorge to the right. You will know you have reached the right spot when you see a diving bell that has sunk in the corner.
Here is where the game pulls a little trick on players. The trophy does not pop right away, so much so that you can reach this point, explore, then leave, without it popping. You need to remain here for a few seconds to make the reward actually pop. In addition, it appeared that staying still does not help the trophy pop, so you are going to want to swim around next to the bell and ground for the best result. Do so, and the Davy Jones’ Locker Trophy/Achievement will unlock.
