Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is an excellent game that released in a poor state on Switch 2. Owlcat Games plans to make it up to players.
Originally released last December on Nintendo Switch 2, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a top-of-the-shelf cRPG. It painstakingly realizes the grimdark universe with incredible attention to detail, commitment to the lore, and intricate combat strategy. Sadly, its launch did not live up to expectations as it was not ready for primetime. Suffering from a myriad of technical issues, we noted in our review, “There are still fixes to be made in the Switch 2 entry.” Owlcat Games vowed to improve the experience, and they just did.
Available since July 7th, this latest Rogue Trader update remarkably improves the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Players can expect improved visuals, enhanced performance, and fixes for the numerous bugs experienced at launch. Having tried it for myself, the build quality is up to par with other versions of the game. On a personal note, it was disheartening to play a game that had much promise held back due to a rushed release. Glad to see that is the case no more.

Furthermore, Owlcat ensured additional in-game content will be free on Nintendo Switch 2, including Deluxe Edition content and all DLC. The first two DLCs, Void Shadows and Lex Imperialis, are available now. The third and upcoming fourth DLCs, The Infinite Museion and Processional of the Damned, will follow later. I can also confirm that any owner of the game can enter the eShop right now and claim that extra content for free.
In other news, Owlcat is planning to launch a physical version for two specific platforms this October. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is out now for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, as well as PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
