Embracer Group Offers Updates on Several Upcoming Game Releases, Such as Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Kingdom Come, And Darksiders 4

Holding Company Embracer Group, which has a pretty stacked schedule of releases over the next two years, has offered some additional information on upcoming titles. This has narrowed down the release windows for several games, including Tomb Raider: Catalyst, as well as the next Kingdom Come title, which was announced earlier this year.

While we had learned that Tomb Raider was planned for a 2028 release earlier this year, we now have learned that both of these titles, and the next Darksiders title, are planned to release before April 2028. Embracer Group’s financial year ends on March 31, though these games will not release before April 1, 2027. This places all of these titles in their next financial year at some point, rather than expecting them all in 2028.

Two games we know will be released by the publisher in 2027 are the fourth mainline entry in the Metro series, Metro 2039, and the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Tomb Raider game, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, both set to arrive by the end of this fiscal year, in February. Embracer has stated that Metro 2039 has a “strong,” momentum behind it, having hit 1 million wishlists, the fastest for any Embracer title. On a personal note, that is one of my more anticipated titles for next year.

As stated above, we learned that Warhorse was developing a new Kingdom Come title alongside the announcement that they would be making a Lord of the Rings RPG, a franchise Embracer has the rights to. Details are fairly light on both right now, with most people assuming this Lord of the Rings title will follow the formula established by their Kingdom Come series. As for the next entry in Kingdom Come, it has been described as an “adventure,” rather than a numbered entry, with early rumors suggesting it might expand the scope of the series beyond the Medieval Bohemia setting.

Fellowship Entertainment, an IP-led gaming company created by Embracer Group (and in the process of being spun off), owns and operates several IPs under the Embracer banner. These include Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider, Darksiders, Dead Island, Kingdom Come, Metro, and Remnant.
