Version 1.2 of NTE proves to be its most ambitious update yet. It adds an entirely new fantasy game inside its existing urban open world.
NTE, or Neverness To Everness, is an urban open-world gacha game with a tinge of the paranormal. Launching to great success, it struggled with version 1.1 due to its lack of expansive activities. No more, said developer Hotta Studio. Known as 999 Nights, this brand new mode offers a sprawling tabletop-inspired RPG fantasy adventure. Version 1.2 also offers a slew of content, from fresh outfits, vehicles, mechanics, and events.
What is 999 Nights?
NTE took a unique approach to this version. With developers stating they needed more time to polish the climax to the current storyline, they skipped to this game within a game. 999 Nights starts by being invited to play a tabletop game at Mint’s apartment. However, an anomaly sucks the protagonist and their friends inside a fantasy world. Featuring a complete fantasy questline, players must fight their way through several biomes to face a mighty dragon tormenting the people of this tabletop’s land.

Each character involved in the story has an RPG-appropriate outfit. From the swordsman, barbarian, mage, or commoner build, these can be brought back to the modern city of Hethereau. Other events in-game include limited S-class characters Shinku and Iroi, a hide-and-seek minigame, and a new motorcycle called the Draco. Proving more generous than other gacha games of its kind, anybody who creates a new character before Version 1.2 ends will receive an S-class character of their choice.
Our review continues to prove timely, stating, “This truly is an urban wonderland.” It is normal for live service games with five weeks to release new updates to stumble along the way. NTE is no stranger to this, but its constant reception to player feedback seems to have kept their audience coming back for more valuable content. NTE is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. More information is available via their website.
