Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a spin-off of the popular PlayStation first-party title, has been cancelled. The title was meant to be a “fast-paced multiplayer platformer arena shooter” mobile game that was in development by OH BiBI, in a partnership with Insomniac Games. The game was announced back in November 2025, before receiving a soft launch that same month in the Philippines and Indonesia. It was later rolled out in additional regions like Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, Canada, and the UK over the following months.
As it stands now, though, these are the only regions that will play the title on the official website for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, announcing that the game is no longer set to receive a full release. It is also stated that the game will be slowly shut down over the coming months. According to the statement, a final update is currently planned to be released today, with the game being delisted from mobile stores on November 21.
The statement reads:
We’ve made the difficult decision to cease development of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble. On behalf of the dev team and everyone helping to make the game, thanks to our amazing community for all your support, especially to those who have spent time playing, sharing feedback, and helping shape Ranger Rumble throughout its development.
After this point, the game will remain playable for fans until the servers are permanently shut down on May 1, 2027. At that point, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will not be accessible to anybody. In addition, the game’s battle pass seasons, or Qwark Pass as it is called in-game, will continue to function and run until the servers are officially shut down, though in-app purchases are now disabled. Players can now “can continue to earn rewards through play and spending that currency on upgrades, cosmetics, characters and currencies”.
This is the latest in a long line of live-service titles that Sony has closed the book on as it moves away from their heavy investment in live service. Cancelled titles include a God of War live-service game, the rather public cancelation of The Last of Us multiplayer, and a Twisted Metal spin-off. A few games still in development include Fair Games and Horizon: Hunters Gathering.
