Marvelous USA has announced that Muramasa: Revenant Blades, the updated remaster of the Vanillaware classic side-scrolling title, will be released on February 4, 2027. Originally released for the Nintendo Wii in 2009, this updated version will be released on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The classic webcomic Sabrina Online has the character, early on in its run, visit an Amiga conference. Sabrina famously preferred the Amiga platform right up until it fell so far out of favor that it was unviable. Legendary developer Hideo Kojima’s successor to his Konami franchise, Metal Gear Solid, known as Physint, will now be published by Xbox, not Sony, Microsoft has confirmed. Originally announced in 2024 during a Sony State of Play, the project was announced as a collaboration between Kojima Productions and PlayStation, though nothing from the title was shown at the time. Publisher KOEI TECMO has revealed its lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, along with what it will showcase during its KOEI TECMO Live! livestream broadcast. The Tokyo Game Show is set to be held between September 17 and September 21 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, having expanded to a five-day event to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Square Enix is usually present during Nintendo Directs, and today’s was no different. They showcased a few titles, notably showcasing Final Fantasy VII Revelation running on the Nintendo Switch 2 early on in the presentation. It was fairly predictable that Nintendo would close out their Nintendo Direct with a big announcement from one of their main franchises, but with a few series primed to make their return, it was hard to predict which we might see. The developer behind Layers of Fear and Silent Hill 2 Remake has announced a new type of horror game set to release next year. Originally teased earlier this year and believed to be their previously known Project M, Onyx: The Dark Grip is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2, having recieved a reveal trailer during the Nintendo Direct event held today. Nintendo held its Legend of Zelda: 40th Anniversary Direct today, offering new information on multiple elements in the series. The show opened with a teaser trailer for The Legend of Zelda movie, which we now know will release April 10, 2027, in addition to the news that tickets for the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto will change to a Zelda 40th Anniversary theme. Capcom has announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword has marked another strong showing for them this year, hitting 1 million sales on launch day. Stupid Never Dies is the kind of game you can go into, despite having seen every trailer for it, and yet still not know what to fully expect.
