No Rest For The Wicked 1.0 Release Delayed To March 2027

Developer Moon Studio has announced that the 1.0 release of their title No Rest for the Wicked, currently in early access, will be delayed until March of 2027. Previously, the highly anticipated 1.0 release of the action role-playing soulslike was announced to launch sometime in October of this year for PC and PlayStation 5, with an Xbox Series and Switch 2 version to follow, though no time frame has been released for those as of yet.

In a video released by the studio, Thomas Mahler, the creative director at Moon Studios, stated, “The truth is simply that, well, we’re not quite there yet.” In a press release from the company, it was said that the studio is planning to use this time to improve gameplay performance, tighten the class system, and polish the game further until it reaches “the standard it deserves.” As part of this, the team at Moon Studio also plans to hold additional closed beta playtests in the following months, as well as an open beta in December.

The studio also plans to continue its commitment to working directly with the player community, with the team releasing development updates via the Wicked Inside video dev diaries, which can be found on their official YouTube channel. These will continue to offer more in-depth insight into the development, as well as content updates, in an attempt to keep the full development of the project transparent.

Hey everyone, we've been quiet for some time now but we have some important news about the 1.0 launch of No Rest for the Wicked!

Early buyers of No Rest for The Wicked will also receive the Founders Pack, a special in-game set of items meant as a thank you from the developers for your support. This was announced previously, with a cutoff date of July 10 to receive these bonuses. With the change in release, these items will now be available to obtain with a purchase of the game before January 1st for PC. Players who have previously bought the game after the initial cutoff will now be retroactively included, with PlayStation preorders going live in January, and that player base able to get the bonus then. The Founders Pack includes:

    • A New Secret Hideout: Spirit Cavern – The legacy of Moon Studios now lives inside No Rest for the Wicked. A hand-crafted home that bridges both worlds.
    • Sayer’s Vow: An all-new Sword in the Stone that only early adopters can extract in the game world.
    • A Custom Founders Tag ensures players are clearly identified as early adopters.
    • As a Founder member, players will get access to an exclusive Public Beta Test Realm reserved just for them, even after the 1.0 game launch.

Moon Studios was founded in 2010 and is perhaps best known for Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, both published by Xbox Game Studios. No Rest for the Wicked was originally announced in December 2023, before launching into early access in April 2024 on PC.
