KOEI TECMO and developer Team Ninja have announced that a new fighter by the name of Minato is joining the roster of Dead or Alive 6: Last Round today. To help players get situated with the character, the developer has also released a trailer showcasing her moves in action to help people get started punching their friends and rivals.
Minato, who apparently goes by the nickname TOKYO JK, has the appearance and base costume of a high school student, but as with most of the characters, this isn’t the whole story. Having an exceptional talent for dancing, she will combine her flashy dance moves with her physical power for the best of both worlds. Minato is also good friends with another roster member, the scientist NiCO, which has given her access to special devices she wears on her person.
Available now, Minato costs $7.99 to purchase through the digital store. A set of costumes is available as part of the “Minato Debut Costume Set”, which contains 5 outfits and also costs $7.99. These items are sold individually or in a bundle pack that costs $14.99. Team Ninja currently has a new Dead or Alive game in development, but it is unclear if this character will factor into the future title or bridge the gap in any way.
As part of this, four additional characters will be added to Dead or Alive 6: Last Round Core Fighters, the free-to-play version of the title, until September 24. These fighters are Nyotengu, Leifang, Kokoro, and Hitomi, with each of these characters available across all modes (including online, offline, and Photo Mode).
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is the definitive edition of the most recent game in the series, first released in 2019 and released earlier this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. You can check out our review of the title here to decide if you want to get into the ring.
