After some speculation that Forza Horizon 6 would miss the planned 2026 release window for its PlayStation 5 version, it has finally been confirmed that we will see the game’s release on January 26, 2027. This announcement comes alongside a new trailer for the title, which will arrive on the same day as its first major expansion, though no details of the expansion have been released at this time.
Pre-orders for the title are live now on the PlayStation Store, with three versions up for grabs: a Standard edition at $69.99, a Deluxe edition at $99.99, and a Premium edition at $119.99. While the Deluxe edition includes the car pass as well as a welcome pack, the Premium edition will include both upcoming expansions, a vbip membership, as well as 5-day early access to Forza Horizon 6. All versions will include a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 as a preorder bonus.
Previously, Microsoft remained steadfast in the face of several rumors that it would release still see a 2026 release in the face of these rumors, though obviously that no longer appears to be the case. Obviously, now in October, there was very little window for Forza Horizon 6 to release, with November being a relative no-man’s-land with the imminent release of Grand Theft Auto VI. This should give the game a healthy distance from that, though I think people forget how busy next year is looking as well, with titles like Stranger Than Heaven and Anata set to release relatively close.
Pixel Byte, when Forza Horizon 6 initially released, gave it an 8/10. In my review of the game back then I stated:
Forza Horizon still has some of the highest quality open-world racing around, blended into a chock world full of things to do and a pretty robust end game once you are the cream of the crop. Forza also understands that players want a lot of cars to choose from, but it just shovels them over to you. You get a car, and you get a car, it says, until you have so many you have no idea what to do with them.
Forza Horizon 6, once again, will be redlining its way onto the PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027.
