The Blood of Dawnwalker New Game Plus Mode Confirmed In The Works

The Blood of Dawnwalker, the new RPG IP developed by Rebel Wolves, does in fact have a new game plus mode in the works for a future release, the game’s director has confirmed. Released in early September, the new IP has managed a strong showing even among established games. While the title can boast a fairly long narrative, the structure of it can be beaten in a shorter or longer time overall, depending on choices the player makes. As such, it is no surprise that there are players waiting and hoping to run through the game again, this time without the need to micromanage earning upgrades and skills, among other things.

So fans should be happy that the game’s director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, confirmed via a stream that The Blood of Dawnwalker will be getting a new game plus mode, though he did not offer details. This means when we can expect this mode and what will carry over to it both remain unknown at this time, but we can definitely expect it. A similar lack of features became an issue before the title’s release, as the core game lacked a 60FPS mode, something that the developers were working on but were unsure if it would be ready for release.

The Blood of Dawnwalker employs a strict time crunch of 30 days to save Coen’s family from being exanguinagted by the main villain of the game. This decision was made to place importance on every choice the player makes; though, as I pointed out in my review, the player sometimes doesn’t know the importance of anything before it is too late. While the day and night periods have multiple blocks of time, everything from earning skills to random fights can take time, making it hard to balance all of this. Presumably, similar to a Persona game, New Game Plus will carry over skills and gear, making balancing time to complete the rest much less painful.

Rebel Wolves is currently in the process of hiring for their next game, expected to be a sequel to The Blood of Dawnwalker. In a trailer released during Summer Game Fest, we saw protagonist Coen in a modern apartment building as a DoorDash-style delivery driver arrives with a contained with blood. This was said to be a look at the future of the series. With the game released set in the 13th century, there are a lot of possible settings to choose from for Coen’s next big adventure.
